Note: Attempt all the five questions in all. Question No. 1 is compulsory.

1. Define any two of the following:

  • Low pass and High pass
  • Band Pass and Band Reject
  • Zener Diode

2. (a) What is transformer? Explain the principle of operation of the transformer.

(b) Compare various transistor amplifier configurations.

3. (a) Describe Superposition theorem.

(b) Differentiate between monostable and bistable multivirators.

4. (a) Give minimum two comparison following semiconductor devices:

  1. Tunnel diode with conventional diode.
  2. LED with conventional diode.
  3. LED with photodiode.

(b) Explain the Maximum Power Transfer theorem and also find condition to obtain maximum power transfer from source to load.

5. (a) For given network find R_{AB},R_{BC},R_{CA},if R_{A}=R_{B}=R_{C}=10Ω.


(b) Compare various transistor amplifier configurations.

6. (a) Explain any one circuit which is used to improve the input impedance of the amplifier.

(b) What is working principal and user’s guidance for CRD?

7. (a) For the given network obtain Thevenin’s and Norton’s equivalent circuit between point a and b.


(b) Write short notes on the following terms:

  1. Electric field
  2. PN junction diode
